InterContinental Hotels Group announced it will introduce newly designed guestrooms at its Crowne Plaza brand of properties in 2015.
The company said that the new rooms are designed to “meet the changing needs of today’s modern business traveler.”
Features of the guestrooms will include a dedicated “nook” area and a multipurpose workspace. The “nook” area will offer space where guests can hold meetings and enjoy relaxation time, while the workspace will have a large desk with easily accessible outlets, adjustable lighting, a mirror, and a drawer with a hair dryer in it.
The new rooms will also have insulated wall panels, which will help to reduce noise. In addition, rooms will have beds with new angled designs and padded, curved headboards. InterContinental said that together, the insulated wall panels and new bed designs will offer a 30% improvement in noise reduction.
The guestrooms will also have a new layout that will allow guests to move easily between the three main areas, namely the “nook”, workspace, and bed.
The new rooms are expected to debut next year at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta Midtown.
